In a sea of bananas, a dragon emerges, lost. Maybe she is lost in the vast world, or maybe she is swallowed up in her own being. There is no apparent end to the sea, nor is there anything in sight apart from infinite piles upon piles of bananas.
In seeking her own way and her own identity, she has become lost, drowning in an insult that many an Asian-American has heard from strangers, their peers, their family friends, and even their family: banana—yellow on the outside, but white on the inside.
Part 2/4 of a quadriptych yet to be completed.
