This is a representation of culturally insensitive behavior found on social media. Sofia Valentini is an American DJ who lives in California. She made a video asking her followers if she could be a member in BLACKPINK while making this racist gesture. She later “apologized” in an even more sarcastic and offensive way making fun of Asian stereotypes. Many people were angry and offended. Asian Americans still face racism and have to put up with unfair stereotypes. The sad part is that many Asian stereotypes are normalized in America. Lots of Asians even make fun of their own culture so that they are not thought of as sensitive or dramatic. Racism towards Asian Americans is subtle but still offensive and annoying. This is something we should strive to change in America moving forward. This is my piece called “fox eye.”
